Mindscreen Film Institute, Chennai, a venture of Rajiv Menon, Director-Cinematographer, besides its regular courses on Cinematography and Screenwriting, is coming up with a Digital Photography Workshop.
It is a 9 days full time workshop, an opportunity to aspiring candidates who have a passion and desire for photography, to gain a deeper appreciation of one’s creativity, explore effective avenues of Photography, discover and develop skills for better image projection and tricks and techniques of effective photography. The course is designed for a wide range of audience ranging form individuals with interests in Photography for any professional and novice.
Workshop will introduce the Camera basic, Lenses, Exposure, Color, and Composition & Lighting. This Digital Photography workshop is the second edition of the popular and successful week long course conducted by Mindscreen in July 2010. The Philosophy behind the workshop has been to awaken the creative photographer hidden in many people who have not had the opportunity to explore photography as a career. These are people who love taking pictures but have been baffled by the technologies involved in digital photography, or those who are inspired by the beauty of what they see but are frustrated that they cannot transform that experience into a great picture. The workshop is meant to guide such people and give them a start in the right direction.
The second edition of the workshop is scheduled to be held between 30th October and 7th November. This is longer workshop, involving 9 days as opposed to the one week duration of the First one. This workshop has also been modified to have a exciting trip to the mountains to get hands-on experience in field photography. The core philosophy is that the outdoors is a great classroom and photography is best learnt by exploring it with a camera. The workshop also has a two day session in studio photography where the students will get to handle lights and studio flashes. The workshop will deal with the fundamentals of how to approach picture taking and complete many steps involved in the work flow of digital photography.
The workshop will be coordinated and conducted by Saravanakumar, who is a renowned wildlife photographer and cameraman. He works regularly for National Geographic, Discovery, Animal Planet and Discovery Channels. The workshop will also involve guest lecturers.
