MINDSCREEN FILM INSTITUTE CONGRATULATES IT'S ALUMNI



Mindscreen Film Institute, founded by Rajiv Menon in 2006, was started as a school for Cinematography and has since evolved into a specialized institute offering courses on Screenplay Writing, Film-Making and Direction. Run by a team of senior industry professionals, Mindscreen Film Institute takes pride in having been the training ground for some of the best talent in the film industry today.



Rajiv Menon, known for his passion in teaching, has mentored award winning cinematographers and directors such as Ravi K. Chandran, Rajasekhar, Ratnavelu and Gautam Menon during their formative years. The Institute draws upon decades of his experience and also the 'Film Productions and Equipment rental company, Mindscreen.



The certificate course on Cinematography started in the year 2006 is a comprehensive program where the students get hands-on learning experience and theoretical knowledge on the latest equipment’s and facilities available in campus.

Rajiv Menon

Founder – Director



Rajiv Menon began his career in the film industry when he graduated in cinematography from the Film and Television Institute. His subsequent training in Steadicam operation under Garret Brown, the academy award winner provided him the opportunity to work with some of the top productions.



Rajiv Menon with two decades of experience in making commercials has won numerous awards. He has also worked on a few important documentary projects with personalities like Shyam Benegal and Girish Karnard. While Rajiv Menon worked on a few documentaries, He gained national recognition for shooting Maniratnam's 'Bombay' and is continued to be associated with him through 'Guru' and 'Kadal'.



Rajiv Menon made his directorial debut in feature filmmaking, Minsara Kanavu for AVM Studios. He is equally interested in giving back to the industry a range of talents it needs to constantly renew itself. With same aim he has established Mindscreen Film Institute inaugurated in July 2006 by filmmaker, Maniratnam

BEGINNERS PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 1st to 4th March 2012

The most important in learning photography as a beginner is to practice and experiment by yourself, but
it could be good to learn the basics in how a photo is supposed to be taken. If you don’t know the basics,
your photography experience might lead to frustration and anger. Photography is all about light so start
off with shutter speed and aperture.
As a beginner in photography and if you the passion to be a good photographer we advise you to take up
this course and learn to click pictures around you.
This Beginners Photography workshop is conducted by Mindscreen film Institute from 1st to 4th March
2012. The Philosophy behind the workshop has been to awaken the creative Photographer hidden in
many people who have not had the opportunity to explore Photography as a career. These are people
who love taking pictures but have been baffled by the technologies involved in digital photography, or
those who are inspired by the beauty of what they see but are frustrated that they cannot transform that
experience into a great picture. The workshop is meant to guide such people and give them a start in the
Right direction.
The Advanced edition of the workshop is scheduled to be held at a later date and this is a longer
workshop, involving 9 to 10 days. The Advanced edition workshop has also been modified to have an
exciting trip to the mountains, forest or nature to get hands-on experience in field photography. The core
philosophy is that the outdoors is a great classroom and photography is best learnt by exploring it with a

BEGINNERS PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 10th to 13rd November 2011

Welcome to Photography for Beginners.
The most important in learning photography as a beginner is to practice and experiment by yourself, but it could be good to learn the basics in how a photo is supposed to be taken. If you don’t know the basics, your photography experience might lead to frustration and anger. Photography is all about light so start off with shutter speed and aperture.
As a beginner in photography and if you the passion to be a good photographer we advise you to take up this course and learn to click pictures around you.
This Digital Photography workshop for beginners is a four days course conducted by Mindscreen from 10th to 13rd November 2011.The Philosophy behind the workshop has been to awaken the creative photographer hidden in many people who have not had the opportunity to explore photography as a career. These are people who love taking pictures but have been baffled by the technologies involved in digital photography, or those who are inspired by the beauty of what they see but are frustrated that they cannot transform that experience into a great picture. The workshop is meant to guide such people and give them a start in the right direction.

The Advanced edition of the workshop is scheduled to be held at a later date and this is a longer workshop, involving 9 days. The Advanced edition workshop has also been modified to have an exciting trip to the mountains, forest or nature to get hands-on experience in field photography. The core philosophy is that the outdoors is a great classroom and photography is best learnt by exploring it with a camera.

The workshop will be coordinated and conducted by Saravanakumar and his team, who is a renowned wildlife photographer and cameraman. He works regularly for National Geographic, Discovery, Animal Planet and Discovery Channels.
